I may have been paid. I have certainly got a pay slip.
So now I am ready to shop.
And the thing that I have decided to shop for is..... films. Dvds are possibly the most fun thing to shop for, more fun than either music or books, although I'm not sure I could easily rationalise that. P'raps because it's the most recent of my greedy collecting obsessions, and my collection is in its (relative) infancy. Yes, be afriad of how many dvds I want.
Except.... I can't remember all the dvds I want. Other than 'a collection'. So help, please. Name your top film films for owning (ie, ones that once you own you actually watch again and again, not ones that you buy to make you look impressive to the casual houseguest. I do not intend to buy Kurosawa. In fact, I suspect I cannot spell 'Kurasowa'. I am not above, or below, a bit of Bergman though, and I like 'South Park the Movie and 'The Hours' about equally.) |

Does anybody have any notion about how to convert MPEG4 files into MP3? Or while exactly itunes imports everything as motherfucking MPEG4 files which will not be played by my MP3 player, oh joy. The notion of re-importing two hundred albums is not amusing. In fact, downloading limewire and stealing every single one of the bastards is much more appealing.
It would have to be explained in baby steps, and words of one syllable, mind. |

Probably my favourite-ist of favourites, for ten years of reasons. He was a great favourite amongst my pretentious set in uni, and em, well, yes, remains so to this day. Still throws out songs that make me listen to them twenty times in a row. It breaks my heart that at least two of his albums are now out of print (Liberation and Short Album About Love, with Promenade going the same way), and that I was left without copies of ‘em, although there seem to be vague promises of re-releasing, if they can find the master tapes, for fuck’s sake..
He really is a pretentious little arse, by the way. You can play ‘name the cinematic or literary allusion’ for hours with these (well, not these particularly ‘cause I’ve gone with the fun ones). It helps if one accessorises with a pint, and several lectures which one is choosing to ignore.

Friends locked.
No banner, but try if you will to imagine the Mutant Enemy monster (from the end credits of Buffy) saying GRRR ARGHH!
That will be all. |
